Vegas.

I thought it was time to get my priorities straight and post about our cousin's trip to Vegas.

There is only one way to do vegas: in a white mini-van with Patty, Lisa, Emily and Jamie. And if you are brave enough, let Jamie drive, enter a Trader Joe's w/ Emily, go dancing with Patty and go Jewelry shopping with Lisa (I bought so much Jewelry!). I imagine, when I am old and gray (which apparently is now), and hard of hearing, and facing the end of my life..............I think I will look back on this trip and I will laugh as hard in fifty years as I do now. It was that fun!

Here are some highlights from our cousin weekend.

1. TRADER JOE'S: This is what Jason Love had to say about Las Vegas, he said, "Las Vegas: all the amenities of modern society in a habitat unfit to grow a tomato." Well, apparently Jason wasn't a shopper and for the record Jason, Trader Joe's does sell tomatoes.....we know..........we went there.................twice!!!

2. My own personal episode of Cops. I got pulled over.................the cop even had back-up. He was a jerk. I even said,"I am glad you pulled me over, I didn't notice that my lights weren't turned on." Really what I was thinking was, "I wonder if the cop can see that basil plant in the backseat...........it sure doesn't loook like basil from here." Then as he was looking up the insurance info on the car I thought,

basil
"I am sure, the grossest city in America, where people are walking around half-naked with beer necklaces around their necks and you are pulling over a little mormon girl driving in a mini-van full of groceries..............spare me!" I bet he couldn't make it as a stripper cop and so he is taking it out on the women driving mini-vans.

3. This next picture is blurry, but I had to post it because it is one of the few where we are all in the picture.

Also this is the spot where a guy came up to my cousin Lisa and asked her, "if she would....................." Well, she thought he was going to ask her if she would show him her boobs, but instead he just asked, "if she would take a picture of him." I was proud of her for not flashing the guy.

4. Our night out on the town!!!!!!! Chad and Nick still don't believe we went dancing. But, I have pictures to prove it!

After dancing up a storm (with purses and cameras in tow) we were feeling young and spry. And despite being the only ones wearing actual clothing in the club, we feeling hip and in the know. It wasn't five minutes after we left the club, that some punky teenagers came up to us and said, "Hey, MOMs where you guys going?".....................HEY, MOMS? are you serious? The best pick up line you could think of was "HEY MOMs". It was funny because Patty whipped around and said back to them, "do we look like MOMs to you?" Lisa would like me to point out at this time that she was not near us when this incident occured and that no one ever accused her of being a mom.

I did learn some new moves I am thinking of sharing with the youth extravagaza. Lots of hip thrust action..................................then again maybe not.

5. You know you don't gamble very much when you show up to Vegas without any money. I love this picture, because Lisa is confident that Emily and Jamie are going to let her gamble away their mooola -which she did.

4. Shopping: We ran the gamut on this one. We hit Nordy's first and it all went downhill from there. I even made friends with a stripper waiting in line at Ross. Here is a picture of us unloading things from the car.

With that we bid Adieu to Vegas............................until next time!

FAME

I am a VERY humble person. It really is one of my greatest strengths, that and my rack (Dad are you reading this?). Anyway, because of my humble nature, rarely do I brag or boast about my accomplishments. But, it is time I tell you that........... my common girl attire is really just a cover to hide the celebrity underneath.

While in Costa Rica, in 2002, a manager at a resort we were staying at told us they would give us free food if we would let them take pictures of us by the bar. If we have learned one thing in our years of marriage it is to never pass up on anything that has the word "free" and "food" (Unless and this is a BIG unless....the words timeshare are included). Happily we took the offer and soon they were sitting us up to the bar, combing our hair, dressing our friends Doug and Meghan up in "resort wear" (Chad and I, like always, were camera ready) and telling us which way to look. There we were four dry Mormons sitting and laughing behind lots of "pretty drinks" with umbrellas, working for our dinner, while a photographer snapped away. Little did we know that it would change our lives forever.

I traveled back to Costa Rica three years later for a little R&R. And as we are driving down the only paved road in the country, I look up and there I see Chad and myself plastered across a billboard in the middle of a cow pasture. I couldn't believe it. Fame it comes at you fast..................One minute you are just a little country girl from Utah, and then......BAM.......the next thing you know your face is on a billboard (Hannah Montana.....I know what you are going through.....I understand). It was a good thing that I had recently screwed up a home hair dying kit, or else I am sure the paparazzi would've been all over me.........but, I think, the red hair threw them off.

And that is why we decided to move to the Valley; to escape the demands and all the attention that comes with being on a billboard in a third world country.

How has fame changed me? Well, I just try to go back to my roots and that has helped me to stay grounded......... and I have a good publicist, who hasn't gotten the word out yet, so that has helped as well.

**When I get a chance I will post a picture of the billboard.

Bits and Pieces

I could hear the bathtub water running, like a good mother I hollered upstairs to see who was in the tub. The response I got was that,"Nobody" was in the bathtub..............(that nobody sounded a lot like Nanner).

While, were were in Maui Chad ran in a marathon. At mile 25 we were cheering him on and as he ran by Zach said, "Dad you should try running a little faster!" How is that for a little motivation?

Carver took a whopping crash down the mountain at Snowbasin. It was sooo bad that it resulted in a series of somersaults. Taylor's response when Carver finally came to a stop was, "That was.................... AWESOME!"

A few weeks ago at Tay and Carv's soccer game, Tanner was drinking a diet coke. When I asked Tanner where he got it he told me Carver gave it to him. After the game a man came up to me and said, "hey your kid drank my entire diet coke!" You snooze you lose bro.

I was shopping at Dottie and Bec's (the local gift shop) when I received a phone call from, someone driving by our house, "you have a child naked in your front window," She said. I tuned out after the words...."you have a child" and kept shopping.

Nanner wanted to eat noodles for breakfast. When I told him noodles wasn't a breakfast food and that I wasn't going to make some for him, he called me a "butt fwack" and said,"FINE....... he would have a hot dog." I made him oatmeal instead.
