Nice Bum...............Where are you from? Chad will probably kill me for posting this. We spent the weekend up in Heber (Carver family reunion), he rode his bike up there from Eden. I took the first two pictures while driving and when I saw how they turned out, all I could think of is "nice bum....where are you from?" It is getting late, and I have reached that point where everything seems funny to me. Thus, before I get myself into trouble I will sign out with saying that we had a great family reunion this weekend and I feel so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful family!

Yesterday, Zachary asked me if it was bad to lift up your middle toe, like it is bad to lift up only your middle finger. I said,"Yes, it was bad.......really, really bad."

Taylor's prized possessions. I found Taylor's new soccer shoes on the front porch stuffed with air fresheners. It made me chuckle, if only he had this loving care for the rest of his wardrobe.

***I am still wondering where he got the air fresheners from. If you are missing some, I think I know where they are.

Focus Four Run
4 Mile Run & 1 Mile Walk
August 22nd 2009 7am

On August 24, 2008 , John Carter (my cousin Lisa's husband), died in a plane crash in Guatemala, while traveling to do humanitarian service. This will mark the year anniversary of his death. In honor of his memory, and the other's that lost their lives in the crash my cousin has organized a run/walk in their honor. It is this Saturday, I believe it starts at the focus headquarters in Roy. To find out more information about the run go to http://www.focusfourrun.com/, to find out what an amazing person my cousin is go to lil's life on my side bar. In order to keep myself from crying as I am typing this post, I will recommend you read her post about her chicken named Chet...it is hilarious. I just have to tell you she is my hero and I love her with all my heart. I will be there, out of shape and flabby (I plan on doing the walk).......and if you find yourself wanting to support a worthy cause, please come join us. You can walk next to my blueish/white legs and I will let you win! Thanks for all your support!!
P.S
Strollers & Children welcome!!

REal Men WEar PINK!

We are officially saying goodbye to the terrible twos. Nanno turns three today! I can't believe it has been three years since he was born. It has gone by fast. He definitely broke the mold........(and a few other things along the way). You will never meet a kid with more gusto and love for life than Nanner. He takes it all in and lives each day to the fullest and then some. He went birthday shopping with Grandma Rita yesterday and this fancy pink bike horn is one of many "prizes" he procured while shopping with Grandma Rita.
Did I fail to mention his keen sense of style and design? Happy Bird-day Nanner..........we love that you make parenting such an adventure!

High Tops

Ever since Taylor was five he has wanted bright white high top shoes, the kind that look like plastic. Every time we go to a shoe store Taylor is like a Jedi fighter caught in the tractor beam of Darth Vader's ship. White high top shoes pull him in and he is paralyzed by their bright whiteness. They are like a drug to him, one he has never been able to shake. I have said no to him a hundred times over and over again through the years. "They look like plastic, they will get dirty, they are ugly. Mother knows best what is stylish for you -trust me white high tops are a fashion disaster, etc." These are all the excuses I have used. I don't know where I have failed as a mother. Carver was able to shake wanting the superman light up shoes and Zach quickly out grew a want for shoes that made siren sounds when you ran, but Taylor has never been able to keep his eyes off the prize (glowing, white, faux leather). The five of us; Carver, Taylor, Zach, Tanner and I walked into the mall, we had a plan already set in place -no character shoes, no pink shoes, no shoes that look like plastic, and no shoes that are the color white. Maybe it was when we were in our millionth store and Tanno was pulling the nylon "try on" socks over his head or when Zach was entranced by some florescent, green, DC shoes, but at some point in time, inside that mall, I lost my resolve and mumble a "yes" to Taylor as he held up some Shaquille O'Neal temple shoes. It could have just been the reflection from the shoes, but I have never seen his face light up so bright.

Julia Child is in the HOuse

I am compiling a cookbook of all my favorite recipes. I am trying to finish it up in the next week or so, thus if you have a great, to die for recipe that is killer, give me a holla. Don't get to stressed out about it if you forget, I have been saying I am going to finish this recipe book for the last three years!! Yep, I started it a little over three years ago, where has the time flown? (I have finally gotten so sick of rummaging through my Rubbermaid shoe box of scrap paper that I am determined to finish it). I will let you know when I am done with it, and if you want a copy I will have you send me your information so I can start a background check and the fingerprinting process. I don't trust just anyone with my secret to pouring captain crunch into a bowl. I also have a bunch of recipes in it given to me over the years by friends and family, thus if your grandmother's pot roast it copyrighted you better let me know, because I don't want to get sued by your cousins. I leave you with one final thought. Your favorite recipe, what is it and why? I would tell you mine, but it is two in the morning and I have got to go to sleep. Night.Night.

The Sandlot crew lives on. Our economic future is in good hands.

Someday we will review the part in the New Testament were the vendors get in trouble for selling on the steps of the temple (that is an LDS stake center in the background), but for now I just cherish how classic that moment was when this picture was taken. It makes me laugh every time I look at it and at the same time it makes me nostalgic. If only they could stay this age forever.
