THRILLER

Don't you just remember the first time you saw thriller?

Or the first time you listened to the Album?

Rember when you learned the Moon walk?

And Remember when you used to only put on one glove, joke around and talk in a really high voice?

And Remember how Captain EO saved the day??

What makes me pause and think about his death, is all the memories I have where Micheal Jackson's music is playing in the background. I still can't get over the fact that he was fifty? Fifty............ really? I thought he was some where around thirty? Where did the time go? Listening to his early music takes me right back to when I was in second grade riding home from Patio Springs, w/ Jamie and my cousin Patty, all the while Thriller, Billy Jean or Beat it was playing on the radio. AND, just for the record, I am still mad Disney got rid of Captain EO. Godspeed Captain.

I bet you don't read this every day on your various blog rounds.

Nanner pooped on the tramp two days ago. The bros and cousins Alex and Luke, were totally grossed out. After the "incident" They came bolting into the house all excited to tattle tale on him. Sure enough when I looked out there were two fine Nanner feces specimen adorning the tramp. I couldn't have been prouder! By baby is growing up. They were all saying words like "disgusting!" "YuCK!" "I am totally gagged out!!!" ANd my all time favorite, "I am never jumping on that tramp AGAIN!!" I said that I would clean it up in a minute. Well, what happened over the next ten minutes was disgust turned into fascination, that turned into a dare. They just couldn't leave well enough alone. First it was "I dare you to jump on the tramp with the poop."So one by one they each took their "dare" turn making a quick jump on the tramp and then fleeing off it as fast as they got on. Then the dare turned into, "I dare you to do two jumps on the tramp with the poop." Each one succumbed to the peer pressure and the thrill of the "hot" potato really being a "HOT" potato. Well two jumps turned into,"I dare you to do a trick, on the tramp with the poop." One by one the front flips and back flips were thrown down all to the thrills and laughter of the on looking crowd. I have never seen such agility, form and preciseness to their jumping, they were flawless in their execution, all the while two large Tootsie rolls bounced around their tumbling moves. I laughed myself silly watching it. Of all the times to not have my video camera handy. The blackmailing could have gone on for years. There was even a line that formed on top of the shed for who got to "go next." Who got to be the lucky one to jump with Nanner's poop. I did end the fun when a log graced the cheek of a child while in a mid-air front flip. I was so sad when the fun ended, because it was quite possibly one of the funniest thing I have ever witnessed. And I thought WOW life in the country doesn't get any better than this. Reality TV......................you better up your game...................there is fierce competition waiting in the wings......................it is called life -unscripted.

Eating my Young and RAGNAR

Today, I spent two and 1/2 hours (due to rain) couped up inside our little Honda pilot with my four children in Park City waiting for Chad's Team and Valley Babefest team (my team) to finish the Wasatch Back Relay (I didn't run due to my famous left knee........argh!!! All those mornings I got up early to run, when I could have slept in). We couldn't leave our parking spot (because we snuck into the parking lot illegally and I knew once we left they would never let us back in, or they would turn us over to the cops) thus, we had to stay put to provide a cheering section. Well, do you recall the story of the mother polar bear that ate her young while in a zoo (I think in Germany?) Or even the mother cat that eats one of its own litter of kittens. Well, let me just tell you they don't do it because they are hungry!

Here is just a glimpse of the inside of our car. Tanner is downing Popsicles, Taylor has a rubber band on his head, I believe that is Carver's foot going over the seat and if you could add sound to the picture you would hear Zachary giving a monologue as to "why did he have to come again?" Let's Just say, patience is a virtue that somehow skipped me.

RAGNAR: Here are some pictures of Chad running his first leg yesterday. The race starts in Logan and Ends in Park City. Chad ran on a six man team (which is crazy by the way!). 188 miles divided by six. Totally nuts, totally intense. Last Year they took second place. This year???

Chad got to run right by our home on his first leg. Here he is getting a little support from Team Nanner.

The boys followed him with squirt guns. Here they are armed and ready for an attack.

Below Chavo is running down Middle Fork. I posted this picture because you can see the spray of Carver's Water gun getting Chad wet. The bros got a thrill out of drenching their dad.

This is my Brother-in-law Nick I believe he is the one who named their team the "Swamp Donkeys" I have yet to know its meaning, I am a little scared to find out.

Here are more swamp donkeys in front of their pimped out ride.

Here they are "strategizing" after Chad finished. See that White binder Nick Fisher is holding.....that contains all the swamps info.

I will post more pictures of the race and of the BABES as I get them.

Sport Beans

Two things that should never be mixed

A crazy two year old......................

And caffeine injected jelly beans.
I loaded up on them for this weekend's race (the Wasatch Back relay). What harm could it do? I left them in my purse. I know you know how this story ends.

15 Books

I stole this from my sister-in-laws blog. Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you've read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.

My Fifteen books:

1. Scarlet Letter/Les Miserable -I have probably read these books fifteen times for school assignments. I think they are the all time favorite for High School and College English teachers everywhere (I received by B.S in English). If any of you need a Scarlet Letter/ Les Mes report for your child I have a bunch of Kelli Carver/Booth originals I will be willing to sell.

2. Beauty (Robin Mckinley)- my all time favorite

3. Goodnight Gorilla/Brown Bear, Brown Bear -reminds me of reading to my boys when they were very small.

4. A little boy and his dog Sandy -not really a book, but the stories that were told to me when I was very small.

5. Gone with the wind -Because I read it in fourth grade, and fell in love with all things gone with the wind.

6. Jesus the Christ-Brilliant book. A quote I read from Albert Einstein turned me onto this book, I have to say he was right the book is so thought provoking.

7. Sacajawea -I loved it! I read it while traveling through eastern Europe, every time I see the cover it brings back that experience.

8. Fannie Mae and the Musical Man - The opening scene of this book, the husband puts a speaker behind the toilet of the outhouse and then when the wife goes in to use it, he yells into a microphone attached by a long cord to the speaker, "Hey lady do you mind, we are trying to work down here!" I got a good laugh, I think of that scene whenever I have to use an outhouse.

9. My mother's parenting books (from the seventies) that she gave me after I had Carver. It is a wonder that we all turned out. **one book recommended taking your baby outside in the sun for twenty minutes "each"side.

10. Pride and Prejudice- ....need I say more?

11. Tale of two cities -My favorite Dickens' book.

12. Charm School -One of those "airport" books that stuck with me.

13. Mrs. Mike, Call of the wild, Banner in the Sky, Island of the blue dolphins, where the Lilies bloom, Scarlet Pimpernel -all books I read in elementary or Jr. high Loved them all!!

14. Harry Potter series- Brilliant.

15. Angle of Repose -single handily the novel that I have thought about the most.

16. El Libro De Mormones- because somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the thing.

OVERDUE

I have tried so hard to fall asleep (it is 12:32 am), BUT, all I can think about is the movie I rented last week from the store, that is a week over due. I hate it when that happens. Every time I close my eyes that darn over due movie pops into my head and I can't stop thinking about ways, how I am going to remind myself, to take it back........ soooooo..........I don't forget to take it back.....soooooo........... tomorrow night when I want to sleep I can just fall asleep, instead...... of............worrying about my DVD rental bill (I rented it from one of those machines that automatically charges your credit card). The worst part about it is the movie was MAll COP, a movie that none of the Booth family bothered stay awake to see the ending (our family really struggles with movies). Knowing that the DVD I rented was dumb, makes it even harder for me to fall asleep. It is a vicious cycle. Just when I decide that I am a reformed DVD renter, I fall off the wagon and hit rock bottom AGAIN!!! "Hi my name is Kelli and I am a overdue fees Addict."...............................AND while I am at it,............................ "Hi my name is Kelli and I like to swear in my head."
